Orang-orang yang mendukung Terry adalah Ibunya, Francis Rita Wilson, bibinya, Nina Rebecca De Mornay dan kakak lelakinya Paul Jason Ritter. Paul sangat mensupport adiknya itu. Ia sangat sayang sekali dengan Terry. Suatu kali, setelah libur panjang sekolah dan kelulusan Paul, keluarganya mengadakan pesta namun berakhir buruk karena Paul mengetahui kalau Ayahnya itu melarang Terry pergi untuk ikut program musik di sekolah musik Bristol-Hillman. Paul tidak suka dengan keputusan Ayahnya yang menahan semua orang untuk tetap tinggal bersamanya, itu tindakan egois. Itu kenapa Paul ingin sekali adiknya, Terry, bisa untuk pergi ke program musik musim panas di Bristol-Hillman. Akhirnya Paul mengirimkan application yang berisi video kompilasi Terry menyanyi untuk ikut bergabung di sekolah musik tersebut. Malam harinya, Terry mengucapkan selamat atas kelulusan Paul dan memberikannya hadiah tiket konser band Three Days Grace yang sangat mereka berdua sukai. Namun akibat perang dengan Ayah mereka sebelumnya, Paul dihukum tidak bisa keluar, namun setelah bernegosiasi dengan Terry akhirnya Paul mau untuk diajak mengendap-endap untuk kabur ke konser. Terry dan Paul menghabiskan malam bersama. Mereka bernyanyi sepuasnya di konser. Belum lagi Paul memberikan pengalaman menyenangkan dimana Terry bisa bersalaman dan diarak oleh semua penonton konser layaknya penyanyi. Saat hendak pulang, rasa bahagia Terry musnah. Mobil yang mereka tumpangi mengalami kecelakaan hingga merenggut nyawa Paul. Hari-hari setelah kematian Paul jadi makin kelabu. Keadaan di rumah jadi makin sepi dan tidak ada komunikasi baik antara semua keluarga. Simon dan Francis sedih bukan main. Hal ini membuat Simon semakin menjaga anaknya yang tinggal satu-satunya, Terry, untuk tetap aman tidak kemana-mana alias dikurung total di kota. Terry merasa bersalah atas mendiang kakaknya. Terry terpukul, ia bahkan ingin berhenti bernyanyi. Surat balasan penerimaan mahasiswa dari Bristol-Hillman pun ia acuhkan sama sekali. Terry hanya ingin berhenti melakukan apa yang ia suka. Keesokan paginya, penyambutan mahasiswa baru dimulai. Terry bertemu dengan seorang pria bernama Jay Oliver James dan teman sekamarnya yang semalam Terry ganggu karena datang ke kamar malam sekali bernama Denise Dana Davis. Selama di sekolah musik, suara Terry tidak bisa keluar sepenuhnya. Hal ini lantas ditanyakan oleh Mr. Torvald John Corbett, guru musik Terry, mengapa Terry berbeda dengan gadis yang ia lihat di dalam DVD. Terry bingung apa maksudnya, lantas Mr. Torvald memperlihatkan DVD yang dikirim oleh Paul sebelumnya.
